How to Prepare for your Postpartum Journey

My top 3 things I recommend expectant mommas to study/familiarize themselves with:

1) Postpartum Recovery 2) Breastfeeding 3) Postpartum Mental Health*

*knowledge of mood disorders & also a local professional’s contact info ready to go*

You don’t have to know it all, but every bit of awareness will help lighten the load once you’re going through it. Knowing that the difficulties these things can bring are NORMAL will help so much when you’re trying to adjust to it all.

It’s also so, so helpful to stock your house with:

1) Recovery supplies for yourself 2) Breastfeeding supplies 3) Plenty of snacks/freezer meals

And besides all of that, plan for a postpartum doula to at least make a couple of visits to help ease this transition for the whole family! I promise you will be so glad you did this.
